FAQ

What is the difference between 3D and 4D?

3D is a still image while 4D captures motion.

Can I bring family and friends?

Yes! You are welcome to bring as many guests as you’d like! We are also baby and children friendly!

Is the ultrasound safe for the baby and I?

A 3D/4D ultrasound uses the same frequency as your doctor uses in a 2D Ultrasound. Ultrasounds have been performed for over 35 years and there have been no proven side effects to its proper use. We strictly adhere to FDA standards.

Do you accept insurance?

Because this is an elective, non-diagnostic ultrasound, we do not accept insurance policies.

What can help me get great pictures?

First, pay attention to when your baby is most active during the day and try to schedule your appointment during that time. Second, pay attention to whether eating and drinking impact your baby’s energy levels and try to eat or not eat right before your ultrasound. Many babies seem to perk up after mommy drinks cold and/or fruity beverages, so we recommend having a fruit smoothie on your way to your appointment.

It is important not to get dehydrated right before your appointment, because this may negatively impact your level of amniotic fluid and your pictures. Many times, the best pictures of your baby are obtained when he or she has turned head downward, so if you know that your baby is breech, you may want to postpone your appointment a week or two to increase the chance of your baby turning before your appointment.

What is an elective prenatal ultrasound?

An elective prenatal ultrasound provides a bonding experience for the mother, father, and loved ones of the unborn baby. The realistic surface images can provide you with a connection before they are even born. However, this does not take place of an ultrasound at your doctors office.

Women seeking an ultrasound must already be receiving prenatal care through a physician or midwife and rely on them for medical or diagnostic related pregnancy questions or issues.

When is the best time to come in for my 3D/4D Custom Experience?

If you plan on having only one 3D/4D ultrasound, we would recommend scheduling your appointment to take place between the 26th and 34th week of the pregnancy. However, excellent images of your baby can be obtained anytime after about 22 weeks of pregnancy and up until your baby’s birth. Many mothers choose to have more than one 3D/4D ultrasound and have images to enjoy from their second and third trimesters.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes, appointments are required for all of our services.
